How to Prepare for the Professional Coaching Demo Session

The purpose of the session is to demonstrate (1) your ability to hold a clean, professional coaching conversation that includes each step in the coaching arc, and (2) your ability to debrief the conversation with a focus on the learner during the course.

Preparation: Your accreditor will use The Coaching Demonstration Rubric to evaluate the demonstration. Included in the rubric are some best practices and tips to help you prepare. We have also created a series of videos on each of the main areas. We also recommend practicing prior to the session.

Coaching Demo - One Pager

For an additional opportunity to practice, we recommend attending Agile Coaching Circles, a 1-hour peer meetup that focuses solely on practicing the professional coaching conversation. Each Circle is hosted by an ICAgile Expert. The meetup sessions are offered in multiple time zones throughout the month.

Important: Please bring a peer to the session to serve as your coaching client. This person should bring a real scenario they are experiencing to receive coaching on. Role play conversations will not pass. We will start with some introductions and setting expectations, followed by the 10-minute demonstration. The coaching client will be dismissed at the conclusion of the 10-min demonstration. The accreditor will then lead you through a debrief of the conversation, any feedback, and a discussion on how you will facilitate the learning during the course.

Sessions are held in English; if you prefer the coaching demo in a language other than English, please reach out to team@icagile.com for further details.
