The "why" behind revising the Agile Product Ownership Learning Outcomes

ICAgile proudly collaborates with industry leaders to regularly revise its learning offerings in alignment with the growth of various disciplines. The product space has evolved and we’re evolving with it and paving new ways forward. In support of how the industry is evolving, ICAgile is working toward creating pathways that will support product professionals and the organizations they work with.

As more companies realize the need to focus on products, the field of Product Management continues to grow. Glassdoor identifies “Product Managers” as one of the top 10 Best Jobs in America while the World Economic Forum calls it the #1 job needed for the emerging global workforce. This growing demand for product professionals also requires companies to invest in their people. According to the Future of Product Management Report, 94% of product professionals will stay with a company longer if the company invests in their professional development.

The updated ICP-APO Learning Outcomes are designed for product professionals who are working with a narrower scope and are likely working with teams and/or team of teams.

These updates were made with a larger vision in mind. This is our first step in a larger effort to revamp our learning offerings in the product space. In support of how the industry is evolving, ICAgile is working toward creating pathways that will support product professionals and the organizations they work with. Specifically, we are working toward creating learning pathways that help professionals build skills that are needed at different scopes in the product space (e.g., working from a single product to working with a full product line). The updated ICP-APO Learning Outcomes are designed for product professionals who are working with a narrower scope and are likely working with teams and/or team of teams.
